Bahraini people protest against the arrest of Shia scholars
Following the Bahraini government's action to arrest dozens of Shiite scholars and citizens, demonstrations were held in different parts of Bahrain.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): A demonstration was held in Bahrain to condemn the arrest of Shiite scholars.

Earlier, the Bahraini Al-Wefaq community announced in a statement that the ruling party began arresting prominent and famous Shiite scholars and seminary professors in a provocative move; an action that is considered a violation of all international laws and treaties and Islamic and moral values.

Al-Wefaq stated that the human rights department of this organization has recorded the arrest of more than 40 Shiite scholars in Bahrain in recent days, including Allama Sheikh Muhammad Sanqur, Allama Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Aali, and Allama Sheikh Ali Al-Saddidi. These individuals are among the most prominent scholars of Bahrain and the most important Friday prayer preachers.

According to the statement, “these arrests follow a series of dangerous raids and attacks on Bahraini figures, scholars and families, during which the ruling regime committed murder and torture to the point of death, revocation of citizenship and acts of revenge aimed at destroying the Shia presence in Bahrain, while Shias constitute the majority of the country’s population.”

The Wefaq Party called for the free world to intervene to stop this sectarian madness, stating that Bahrain needed a new agreement and constitution to build a law-based and institutionalized state instead of a failed and insane security state.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry recently revoked the citizenship of 69 people and their families, claiming that they had expressed sympathy for Iran and praised Iran’s actions against Bahrain.

The alleged charges against the detainees included “spying for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps,” “treason,” “sharing footage of Iranian attacks,” “praising Iran’s actions,” and “incitement to violence.” Some arrests have also been made for protests or social media posts related to regional developments.

Earlier, Bahrain's House of Representatives suspended the membership of three members for opposing measures taken against individuals accused of "aligning with Iran."
