More than 5,000 Afghan refugees return in one day; 1,351 residential land plots distributed to returnees
The High Commission for the Repatriation of Refugees has announced that in just one day, 5,046 Afghan refugees have entered the country through various routes, and in addition to receiving cash assistance, health and transportation services, 1,351 families have also been distributed residential land plots.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, has published details of the services provided to returnees, citing the daily report of the High Commission for the Repatriation of Refugees.

According to this report, on Sunday, a total of 978 families, including 5,046 people, entered the country through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala, and Nimroz Silk Road crossings.

In Nangarhar province and through the Torkham route, 751 families, including 3,913 people, have been registered and biometrically scanned. Also, 493 families including 2,794 people have been transferred to different provinces and more than 2.2 million Afghanis have been paid for their transportation fare.

In Kandahar and through Spin Boldak, 139 families including 801 people have entered the country. In Nimroz, 61 families including 224 people have been registered and in addition, 1,475 passengers have entered the country through this route. In Herat and through the Islam Qala route, 27 families including 108 people have returned to the country.

Based on this report, hundreds of families have received the necessary support in the areas of cash assistance, health services, food distribution and SIM cards. Also, 653 families including 3,691 people have been transferred to different provinces.

The Permanent Settlement and Land Distribution Committee has also announced that a total of 1,351 residential land plots have been distributed to returnee families in the provinces of Nangarhar, Laghman, Zabul, Farah, Logar and Kunduz.

According to the commission, a total of 21,448 land plots have been distributed to returnees across the country so far, and the process is ongoing.

In recent months, the number of Afghan refugees returning from neighboring countries has increased. In addition to immediate assistance, responsible institutions say that programs have been launched to provide permanent housing, job opportunities, and educational and health services for returnees.
