Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Emmanuel Macron has made clear that the issue of sending troops to open the Strait of Hormuz has never been on France's agenda.
He emphasized: "We have never considered sending troops to open the Strait of Hormuz. This has never been France's option."
This position comes at a time when tensions in the Persian Gulf region and around strategic energy routes have increased in recent months, and some Western powers have expressed concerns about shipping security and energy transit.
In contrast, the Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is under its sovereignty and that the security of this important waterway is ensured independently.
Iranian officials have also cited the presence of foreign military forces in the region as a factor in increasing tension and instability.
According to observers, the recent statements by the French President could be a sign of disagreement among Western countries regarding the military approach in the Persian Gulf. Studies show that the desire of some European powers to maintain a diplomatic path, in contrast to more aggressive approaches in the region, could affect future security equations.
