Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Following the energy consequences of the US-Israeli war against Iran being felt in the world's most populous country, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the country's citizens to save fuel and work remotely.
Modi said in a public rally, "We must limit the consumption of petrol and diesel. In cities that have metro lines, we should decide to travel by metro. And if we have to use a car, we should try to find a travel companion."
He added, "In the current situation, we should place great emphasis on saving foreign exchange," and asked Indians not to buy gold and to refrain from traveling and holding weddings abroad.
India, a country of more than 1.4 billion people, is among the countries most affected by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, given its dependence on oil and gas imports from the Middle East.
The government has previously used emergency powers to divert fuel from the industrial sector to households to meet their needs.
