Smugglers fail on western borders; 2 tons of copper discovered and seized in Nimroz
Officials of the sub-customs of Nimroz province announced the identification and seizure of a large shipment of 2 tons of smuggled copper in Chahar Burjak district. The shipment, which was loaded in two vehicles, was intended to illegally cross into Pakistan, but was stopped by the vigilance of customs forces.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-Herat: Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar Mahmood, head of the sub-customs of Nimroz, said that this amount of copper was loaded in two vehicles and was to be illegally transported to Pakistan via Nimroz.

According to him, customs forces succeeded in identifying the shipment and preventing its smuggling.

Mr. Mahmood added that no one has been arrested in connection with this case so far, but the amount of copper has been seized and the relevant vehicles have been handed over to the relevant institutions.

Due to its border location, Nimroz Province has always been considered one of the important routes for the transfer of goods and transit activities. In recent years, efforts to prevent the smuggling of commercial and mineral goods in this province have increased, and customs and security institutions are trying to prevent the illegal exit of the country's resources with greater supervision.
