Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Wall Street Journal reported this morning (Tuesday) that Emirati fighter jets attacked oil facilities on Lavan Island just hours after the US announced a ceasefire with Iran.
Informed sources told the Wall Street Journal that during the US-Israeli war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the UAE military also carried out attacks inside Iran, including the attack on the Lavan refinery.
The report states: “The UAE used Western-made fighter jets, believed to be Mirage 2000-9s, but did not publicly claim responsibility for the operation. Iran immediately responded with missile and drone strikes on targets in the UAE.”
The publication added that Lavan Island, a key facility with a production capacity of about 55,000 barrels of oil per day, is likely to be out of production for several months.
