In a conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, the Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized Beijing's continued support for the mediation process between Iran and the US and called for Islamabad to play a greater role and participate in this process.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Chinese government called on Pakistan this morning (Wednesday) to intensify mediation efforts between Iran and the US.
The AFP reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar, appreciated Islamabad's efforts to facilitate US-Iran talks.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry also said in a statement that Wang expressed hope that Pakistan would participate in finding a suitable solution to the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement also said: "Beijing will continue to support Pakistan's mediation efforts and will participate in this effort."
