Lavrov: Aggression against Iran was to prevent rapprochement between Tehran and the Arabs
The Russian Foreign Minister, referring to the goals behind the US and Zionist aggression against Iran, emphasized that one of the motives of this attack was to prevent the normalization of Tehran's relations with the Arab countries of the region.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Sergei Lavrov clarified that one of the goals of the joint aggression of the US and the Zionist regime on Iranian soil was to prevent the normalization of this country's relations with the Arab countries.
In an interview with the Russia Today television channel, he said: "I have no doubt that when these plans were being designed to launch aggression against Iran, one of the goals was to prevent the normalization of relations between Iran and the Arabs."
The Russian Foreign Minister went on to recall that many years ago, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein Al-Hashemi of Jordan held a meeting for reconciliation between Sunnis and Shiites, but now serious efforts are being made to ensure that this reconciliation never happens and that Iran, as one of the main Shiite countries, becomes an outcast.

“Everything is currently being done in such a way that this reconciliation never happens, that Iran, as one of the main Shiite countries, is portrayed as a real outcast, and that its other neighbors in the Persian Gulf are drawn into structures that, firstly, are not focused on resolving the Palestinian issue, and secondly, that they are forced to betray the Palestinian cause as the “price” for normalizing relations with Israel,” Lavrov stressed.

On February 28, the United States and Israel, in a joint crime, invaded the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran and on the very first day, martyred the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and a number of senior military commanders. Iran responded decisively to these crimes with missile and drone attacks, and finally declared a ceasefire on April 8. Negotiations were held in Islamabad, which ended without results due to excessive demands. Since then, the Trump administration has been planning a naval blockade in the hope of pressuring Iran to surrender, but this has not yielded any results.
