Khalilzad: Islamabad has played a double game with the US in foreign policy
Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US representative for peace in Afghanistan, accused Islamabad of a policy of simultaneous cooperation and confrontation with Washington.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Zalmay Khalilzad", the former US representative for peace in Afghanistan, announced that Pakistan has had a double policy towards the US for the past four decades.

He wrote in a message on the "X" network that the Islamabad government has simultaneously cooperated with the US and at the same time taken measures against the interests of the country.

Referring to the issue of Pakistan's nuclear program, Khalilzad said: The country had made a commitment to the US while not seeking to build nuclear weapons, but in practice it has tried to achieve it.

The former US special representative for peace in Afghanistan also claimed that after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Pakistan cooperated with the US in the Afghan operation but at the same time supported groups that fought against American forces.

He then referred to the killing of Osama bin Laden, saying that the al-Qaeda leader had been hiding near a military facility in Pakistan until the US special forces operation.
