Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Yu Xiaoyong, China's special representative for Afghanistan, has said that he has had several meetings with Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, in recent days.
He wrote on his X page that the two sides have positively evaluated the Urumqi talks process and have emphasized expanding cooperation in the security and economic sectors.
Yu Xiaoyong added: "The two sides have positively evaluated the Urumqi process and are ready for joint cooperation for peace, security and mutual development."
China is trying to strengthen the role of mediator between Kabul and Islamabad while tensions between the two countries continue. Beijing had previously described the Urumqi process as an important framework for reducing tensions and restoring ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
This is while the Islamic Emirate has always considered dialogue as the only way to resolve problems and has emphasized interaction, expanding regional and global cooperation, and increasing trade.
The Urumqi dialogue process, mediated by China, was established in recent months to reduce tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. As one of the influential countries in the region, China has tried to strengthen security, economic, and transit cooperation between Kabul and Islamabad through this framework.
