Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Summit in New Delhi today (Thursday, May 14) and delivered a speech.
He said: As you have all witnessed, my country has been the target of brutal and illegal aggression by the United States and Israel twice in less than a year.
Araghchi added: “The attacks against our people are justified by false claims that contradict the informed assessments of the International Atomic Energy Agency and even the estimates of the US’s own intelligence agencies. The truth is that Iran, like many independent countries, has fallen victim to illegal expansionism and warmongering.”
The head of Iran’s diplomatic service continued: “These are ugly phenomena that have no place in today’s world. Those who seek reckless adventures may think that these actions are in line with their geopolitical interests, but as nations and governments around the world have realized today, regional instability is a lose-lose situation for all parties, including the aggressors themselves.”
We did not surrender to the will and whims of the hegemonic powers
He stated: “The Iranian people have defended themselves with steadfastness and pride in the face of this horrific violence.” Did we retreat from our ideal of independence? Did we surrender to the will and whims of the dominating powers? The answer is clear: we have never done so and we never will.
The head of Iran’s diplomatic service noted: “I come from an ancient land, a land whose leaders have bravely stood by their people to achieve justice, independence, and defend sovereignty and territorial integrity, and have sacrificed their lives for historical and national ideals.”
Araghchi added: “I speak on behalf of the Iranian people whose armed forces, medical staff, teachers, and law enforcement forces have never once preferred their personal safety to saving the lives of the people they were tasked with protecting, and have served with honor on the front lines of humanity.”
Iran is invincible
The head of the Iranian diplomatic service continued his speech by stating: I speak on behalf of the people who chose to stand firm under the horrific bombings, of the mothers of Minab who did not bow down under the burden of grief of losing their children, of the youth who do not allow the dust of war to erase their bright future, and of the nation that, despite all the pressures, continues to believe in a free, stable, and just world.
Araghchi stated: It should now be clear to everyone that Iran is invincible and that whenever it is put under pressure, it emerges stronger and more united than before. Just as we are ready to fight with all our might to defend our freedom and land, we are equally ready to pursue and safeguard diplomacy.
He added: As I have repeatedly emphasized, there is no military solution to any issue related to Iran. We Iranians will never bow down to any pressure or threat, but we will respond in a respectful manner. Although our powerful armed forces are ready to give a crushing and devastating response to foreign aggressors, our people are peace-loving and do not want war. In this shameful situation, we are not the aggressors, but the oppressed and violated party.
Declining imperialist powers want to turn back time
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated: “Over the past year, I have had the honor of participating in two BRICS summits to express the Iranian government’s belief that this mechanism symbolizes the emergence of a new order in the world, an order in which the global South is one of the main architects of the world’s future. What was once an ambitious ideal has become a reality today, but this reality is a fragile one. Declining imperialist powers want to turn back time and are reacting aggressively in desperation on the path to their downfall.”
He said: “This is of fundamental importance to the BRICS+ community, because the battle in which Iran has stood is the defense of all members and the defense of the new world we are building. Our brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives to confront Western hegemony and the immunity that America thinks it enjoys. While Iran is grateful for the support and solidarity of the BRICS countries, it is necessary for us all to increase our efforts to end this feeling of superiority and immunity from America, a feeling that has no place in today’s world.”
He continued: “For almost everyone present at this meeting, resisting American bullying is not an unfamiliar battle. Many of us face different forms of this same abhorrent pressure and coercion. Now is the time to work together to make it clear that such behavior must be consigned to the dustbin of history.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister said: “Today, our nations are closer than ever before, and we cannot ignore the common and dangerous threat we all face.”
Horrific genocides, violations of state sovereignty, and open piracy on the high seas
History has shown that declining empires have resorted to They do not spare any action. The wounded animal on the way to the fall, claws and roars in despair. The shedding of all appearances and masks can be seen in the tragedies that the West has either openly pursued or shamelessly supported financially and politically in the global South; whether in Asia, Africa or Latin America. What was once considered unthinkable and deeply shameful is today either ignored or openly accepted in Western capitals: horrific genocides, shocking violations of state sovereignty, and blatant piracy on the high seas.
BRICS condemns US and Israeli violations of international law
The senior Iranian diplomat said: These crimes, and the West’s silence on them, are only possible when there is a sense of impunity and impunity. This false sense of superiority and immunity must be shattered by all of us.
He said: Therefore, Iran calls on the BRICS member states and all responsible members of the international community to unequivocally condemn the violations of international law by the United States and Israel, including their illegal aggression against Iran, to prevent the politicization of international institutions, and to take practical measures to stop warmongering and end the immunity of violators of the United Nations Charter.
Araghchi concluded by saying: We believe that BRICS can - and should - become one of the main pillars in shaping a global order, one that is more just, balanced, and humane; one in which power will never replace right.
He stated: Nations that stand for their dignity and independence may endure many hardships, but they will never be defeated.
