Russia emphasizes strengthening cooperation with Islamic countries

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to RIA Novosti, Kirill Sapozhenkov, Deputy Director of the Department for Relations with Federal Entities, Parliament and Social Organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said: Moscow is trying to become not only a partner, but also a reliable political ally for Islamic countries based on equality and mutual respect.

 

Russia's relations with many Islamic countries are at a good level. Relations between Tehran and Moscow have also been expanding in recent years, leading to the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.

 

Russia is one of the countries that, despite being a Christian majority, has a significant Muslim minority, and some of its regions, such as the Chechen Republic and many other republics, have a Muslim majority.
