Iran’s Harsh Reaction to US Rhetoric and Indian Oil Tankers Passing Through the Strait of Hormuz
Amid the escalating crisis in West Asia and the continuing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, Esmail Baghai, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, yesterday (Sunday) took a harsh stance in response to the rhetoric of American officials about Iran’s role in the global energy market, calling these statements a preparation for the “next big lie” aimed at justifying a war against Iran. Meanwhile, according to ship tracking data, two tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bound for India have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Baghai wrote on X Network: “It seems that the next big lie they are looking for to justify their illegal war of choice against Iran is the claim of ‘maintaining peace and stability in the global energy market.’”

Referring to the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran, he added: “In the real world, it was the reckless warmongering of the US and Israeli regimes that destroyed the progressing diplomatic processes and, with an unprovoked military aggression against Iran, caused insecurity in vital energy routes.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman considered this action an example of the same principle that, according to him, Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi German propaganda minister, had put forward: “Accuse others of what you yourself have committed.”
Baqaei also cited a saying by the Roman historian Tacitus: “They create havoc and call it peace.” He emphasized that Iran was attacked twice while it was negotiating.

Indian Oil Tankers on the Path to Dangerous Waters
Along with these diplomatic tensions, the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has become one of the most important strategic issues for India. According to ship tracking data, two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers, the Symi and the NV Sunshine, bound for India, have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz. Their position trackers now show them in Indian coastal waters off Gujarat.
According to Lloyd’s List, the Marshall Islands-flagged Symi loaded its cargo from the Ras Laffan port in Qatar and is en route to the Kandla port in Gujarat.
The Vietnamese-flagged NV Sunshine loaded its cargo from the Ruwais refinery in the United Arab Emirates and is en route to the port of Mangalore.
Since early March, 13 Indian-flagged vessels, including 12 LPG tankers and one crude oil tanker, have reportedly transited the Strait of Hormuz. However, the transit was certainly coordinated and authorized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

India's energy crisis and Modi's call for savings
These developments come as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently urged the country's people to save fuel. The energy crisis caused by conflicts in West Asia, which began with joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran, has led to one of the world's worst energy crises in decades. The Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the world's energy supply passes, has been severely affected by the conflicts.
The Indian government recently increased the prices of petrol and diesel by 3 rupees per liter, a move that has been strongly criticized by opposition parties. The Congress and other opposition parties have accused the government of deliberately delaying the price hike until after the state assembly elections.

Attack on Indian ship off the coast of Oman
This comes after a drone attack on an Indian-flagged cargo ship, the Haji Ali, off the coast of Oman earlier this month. All 14 crew members on board the ship, which was en route from Somalia to Sharjah, were rescued by Omani rescue forces. India's Ministry of External Affairs called the attack "unacceptable" and condemned it. The identities of the perpetrators of the attack have not yet been determined.

UN warning and India's request
Along with these developments, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Pravattani Harish, called targeting commercial shipping, endangering civilian crews, and preventing freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz "unacceptable" at a special session of the organization's Economic and Social Council.
Meanwhile, Iran continues to reject any accusations of creating insecurity in the energy market, calling it part of a larger project to justify continuing the war. At the end of his message on X, Baqai described the American and Israeli model as follows: "First they create crisis and war, then they spread the fire of war by claiming to "restore stability" and "defend peace."
