Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq did not allow their soil to be used against Iran/Real friends and enemies were recognized
In a long and strategic meeting with Pakistani Interior Minister Sayed Mohsin Naqvi, Masoud Pazeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while appreciating Islamabad’s role in establishing peace, spoke of “real friends and enemies being recognized” at the height of the crisis and, naming Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq, emphasized that these three neighbors have played an important role in neutralizing the enemies’ security designs by preventing the misuse of their soil against Tehran. The meeting was attended by the Iranian Interior and Foreign Ministers and a private 90-minute meeting between the two sides.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: In this meeting, which was held in the presence of Eskandar Momeni, Minister of Interior, and Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Dr. Pazeshkian appreciated the role and follow-up of the Pakistani government, especially the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the country’s army, in the process of establishing and consolidating the ceasefire, and expressed hope that these efforts would lead to the consolidation of lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.
The President of Iran described the military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against this country and the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, high-ranking officials, military commanders, ministers, innocent students, and citizens as “a great crime that contradicts all humanitarian, legal, and international standards,” and added: “These criminal actions are unacceptable to any awakened and free conscience in the world.”

“They wanted to overthrow the regime”; Pazeshkian's account of the enemy's goals
The Iranian President, referring to what he called "the sinister goals of the aggression planners," said: "The main goal of America and the Zionist regime in attacking Iran was to create internal instability and try to weaken and overthrow the Islamic system, but they never imagined that the great, noble, and aware nation of Iran would stand by its system and country with such unity, authority, and loyalty, and would have such a broad and meaningful presence on the scene in support of the Islamic Republic and confronting the system of domination."
He pointed out the security designs for the infiltration of armed terrorist elements from the northwest and southeast regions of the country, and stated: "The enemies were trying to spread insecurity into the country by providing financial, intelligence, and weapons support to terrorist groups, but the cooperation and responsibility of Iran's neighbors in preventing any abuse of their territory against Iran was a valuable and commendable measure. In this context, I sincerely thank the governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq for not allowing any action to be taken from their soil against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Turning to the Economy; An Opportunity for Greater Closeness
Praising the facilities and arrangements adopted by the Pakistani government in the field of border trade and economic cooperation, the Iranian President stated: “The growing trend of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries can be further developed. Despite all the losses and costs resulting from the war, these developments have brought Iran and Pakistan closer together, and now a suitable opportunity has been provided to expand the level of bilateral relations in the economic, scientific, cultural, and regional fields beyond the past; a trend that can also pave the way for strengthening peace, reducing tensions, and promoting constructive interactions among the nations of the region.”

Call for Islamic Unity Against “Divisiveness”
In the strategic part of his speech, the doctors emphasized the need for unity among Islamic countries and warned: “Islamic countries should move towards unity and convergence by relying on religious, cultural, and strategic commonalities. The more the unity of the Islamic Ummah is strengthened, the less likely it is for extra-regional powers and the Zionist regime to intervene and invade the region.”
The Iranian President, referring to the Islamic Republic’s principled policy of developing friendly relations with neighboring countries, especially the countries bordering the Persian Gulf, noted: “The Islamic Republic of Iran wants sincere, stable, and good-neighborly relations with the Islamic countries of the region, but the United States and the Zionist regime have always tried to pit Islamic countries against each other through divisive projects and creating distrust.”
He emphasized: “The major countries of the Islamic world should pave the way for the establishment of lasting peace, security, and stability in the region by strengthening regional cooperation and interactions. Because under the shadow of Islamic unity and convergence, the Zionist regime will never dare to attack and invade Islamic countries.”

Pakistani narrative; “Real friends and enemies were recognized”

In the same meeting, Sayed Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, also expressed his satisfaction with this meeting and pointed to his country’s efforts to help stop the conflicts and reduce tensions, saying: “Today, more than ever, the real dimensions of regional developments and the roles of various actors have become clear to public opinion. Recent circumstances have clearly shown how real friends and enemies are recognized at critical junctures; an issue that can be an important basis for future strategic decision-making.”
The Pakistani Interior Minister, emphasizing the depth of historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties between the two countries, stated: “Iran and Pakistan have always had close and brotherly relations, and today these ties have been strengthened more than ever before. The Pakistani people have deep affection and respect for the Iranian people, and we hope that, under the will of the leaders of the two countries, we can further develop the level of bilateral relations and cooperation.”
