In an interview with the Washington Post, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva took a stand against the US war on Iran and reiterated his opposition to the war.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Brazilian President's statements were made in a context where he has had bilateral meetings with Trump, despite his criticism of the US government's positions on various issues, such as Washington's interference in the trial of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.

In an interview with the Washington Post, he says his personal relationship with Donald Trump can help attract American investment, prevent further tariffs and sanctions, and ensure respect for Brazilian democracy.

Lula emphasized: "Trump knows that I oppose the war on Iran, I oppose his intervention in Venezuela, and I condemn the genocide that is happening in Palestine."

The Brazilian president's new comments come as Brazilian officials have repeatedly stated their opposition to the US-Israeli war against Iran.

In an interview with The Washington Post, the Brazilian president struck a friendly tone and called for maintaining relations with Trump.

"My political differences with Trump do not interfere with my relationship with him as head of state. What I want is for him to treat Brazil with respect and to know that I am the democratically elected president here," he said.
