Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Hebrew newspaper "Haaretz" reported, citing sources, that the International Criminal Court has issued secret arrest warrants for five Israeli officials, including two military personnel.
The newspaper Haaretz reported, citing a diplomatic source, that the warrants targeted five Israeli officials, including three politicians and two military commanders, without disclosing their identities or the time of the warrants.
According to the same source, this step is being taken within the framework of the court's investigation into possible war crimes and violations committed during military operations in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian news agency Shehab, the Haaretz newspaper, citing a diplomatic source, revealed that the ICC arrest warrants are in addition to existing ones issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Minister of War Yoav Gallant for crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza.
To date, only two arrest warrants have been publicly announced against Israeli officials, for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, and were issued in November 2024.
The Hague court also rejected Israel’s appeal regarding its jurisdiction to investigate the Gaza war and ruled that Israel’s acceptance of the court’s jurisdiction is not a prerequisite for considering requests for arrest warrants.
The date of the issuance of the new ICC arrest warrants against Israeli officials is not known.
