Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin today (Wednesday, May 20) signed a statement on deepening relations while attending the signing ceremony of joint documents between Russia and China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

According to Sputnik, representatives of the two sides signed 20 joint documents. Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Russia and China had reached an agreement on an important issue in the energy sector.

Xi said during the ceremony that this was President Putin's 25th visit to China, which confirmed the "special nature" of China-Russia relations. The Chinese president added that "China and Russia must remain strategic bulwarks."

He described his talks with Putin as profound, friendly and constructive, saying that a new type of international relations and the creation of a multipolar world were discussed at the joint meeting.
