Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: This workshop was held with the aim of improving the professional capacity of employees of tourism companies, standardizing services, improving customer service, and familiarizing them with the laws and principles of professional ethics, and ended today.
During this program, officials and professors taught participants about topics such as the importance of tourism, Afghanistan's historical and natural attractions, the role of tourism in Islam, the economic and social impacts of this industry, digital marketing, tourism support services, and the principles of designing domestic and foreign tours.
Maulvi Mohammad Zaman Naseri, head of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, said that about 500 representatives of tourism, pilgrimage and medical associations, as well as students of the institute, had participated in the workshop.
Maulvi Qudratullah Jamal considered Afghanistan an Islamic, hospitable country with extensive historical and natural potential, adding that with the coming to power of the Islamic Emirate, more steps have been taken to grow the tourism industry and provide facilities for tourism and pilgrimage companies.
He noted that efforts to standardize services and solve the problems of companies active in this sector are continuing, and the Ministry of Information and Culture will support these companies.
Meanwhile, Maulvi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture, also said that Afghanistan has abundant cultural heritage and natural attractions, and these potentials should be introduced to the world in a worthy manner.
He added that historical and tourist sites can play an important role in the country's economic growth and are of particular importance for attracting foreign tourists, providing quality services, and creating necessary facilities.
Mohammad Nabi Baha, Chairman of the Emirati Afghan Tour Company, also described the tourism industry as one of the important factors for economic growth and creating job opportunities, and called for more investment in capacity building in this sector.
Officials of the tourism and medical associations also pointed out that better conditions have been provided for the activities of tourism companies in Afghanistan, emphasizing that in order to compete with other countries, the services of these companies must become more standardized and professional.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed to the participants.
