Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced in a press release that Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mirdif Al-Qashooti, Qatari Ambassador in Kabul, and discussed bilateral relations, regional developments and joint cooperation.
According to the press release, in addition to reviewing relations between Afghanistan and Qatar, the two sides also exchanged views on some recent developments in the region.
In this meeting, Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed satisfaction with the cessation of active war in the region, but emphasized the need for a permanent end to the war and a reduction in tensions. He also expressed his sympathy once again with the government and people of Qatar following the recent attacks.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ambassador to Kabul, Mirdif Al-Qashouti, emphasized his country’s continued engagement and cooperation with Afghanistan and shared the latest information on the regional situation and the Qatari government’s perspective with the Afghan side.
Qatar has played an important role in facilitating political dialogues related to Afghanistan in recent years and has continued its diplomatic relations and interactions with Kabul after the country’s political developments. Doha is also among the countries that have cooperated with Afghanistan in the humanitarian and political sectors.
Studies show that continued engagement between Kabul and Doha can play an important role in expanding political, humanitarian and economic cooperation as well as strengthening regional ties.
