He warned about the voices that call it dependent on foreign countries and call for the dissolution or merger of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
The Iraqi MP said: The Popular Mobilization Forces are a red line and we will never allow its merger (in the armed forces) or any harm to it, because the Popular Mobilization Forces are a security and ideological institution that played the most important role in defending Iraq and confronting terrorism.
He stated: "The weapon of resistance has emerged as a result of the external dangers and threats that continue to surround Iraq and its people, and the continuation of these challenges requires the preservation of elements of national power that protect the country against any foreign aggression or interference."
