Yemeni fugitive president dies in Riyadh
Former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who fled to Saudi Arabia after Ansar Allah took control of the country's capital, died in Riyadh on Thursday at the age of 81.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The former and fugitive Yemeni president had been residing in Saudi Arabia in recent years.
Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi served as Yemeni vice president from 1994 to 2012 before assuming the presidency of Yemen, replacing Ali Abdullah Saleh after his resignation that same year.
He fled to Saudi Arabia in 2015 after Ansar Allah took control of the country's capital. Mansour Hadi called himself president from Riyadh until he "transferred his powers to the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council" in 2022.
A Yemeni source told AFP about his death that Mansour Hadi "died in the Saudi capital following a sudden health crisis."
