Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson has condemned the US Treasury Secretary's threat to impose sanctions on Oman, following the previous threat to "destroy" Oman, as an attempt to blackmail an independent state that is a member of the United Nations and another sign of the moral bankruptcy of the US system of governance and politics.
Baghaei noted: Threatening to impose sanctions on Oman under a false pretext is an absolutely illegal act that contradicts the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, and the international community should respond responsibly to this approach and prevent the increasing normalization of violations of international legal norms.
It is worth noting that Trump recently threatened Oman with a military attack for what he called its association with Iran and the control mechanism of the Strait of Hormuz.
