Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the ministry, the attacks last night on various regions of Ukraine were carried out in response to "terrorist attacks" in the country.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the attacks focused on defense industry facilities in Kiev, the Ukrainian-controlled areas of Zaporozhye and Kherson, as well as in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi and Sumy regions.
According to the ministry, fuel and transportation infrastructure facilities used by Ukrainian forces and military airports were also hit.
These explanations were provided while Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials said that Russia attacked civilian targets last night.
Moscow says it used precision ground and sea-based weapons, including hypersonic missiles, in its strikes on Ukraine last night.
The Russian Defense Ministry added: “The objectives of the strike have been achieved. All designated targets were hit.”
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that Russia had attacked Kiev and other parts of the country last night with 73 missiles and 656 drones. According to the Ukrainian military, Russia used eight supersonic Zircon cruise missiles and 33 ballistic missiles in the attacks.
