Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): While the Ukrainian peace talks are at a standstill and the fighting has intensified, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that the Ukrainian government's decision to withdraw its forces from the Donbas region will allow for a quick end to the war.
Referring to the region in eastern Ukraine, he said, "This conflict could end within 24 hours; provided that (Ukrainian President) Zelensky orders his forces to withdraw from Russian territory."
Peskov also said that Russia remains ready for talks with Ukraine and is in contact with the United States, which has played the role of a mediator between the warring parties.
He also claimed that the war will continue if Ukraine continues to refuse "real peace talks and serious decisions" that could lead to an agreement.
