Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Islamic Resistance Movement of Iraq, Nujaba, issued an official statement, emphasizing its consistent positions regarding the military capabilities of this group. The movement announced that its position regarding the “sacred and disciplined weapon” has not changed. In the issued statement, Nujaba considered the purpose of these weapons to be solely to defend Iraq and its nation.
Meanwhile, Ali al-Assadi, the head of the political council of the Nujaba Movement, also explained the conditions and various aspects of the security and political situation in Iraq and the role of this movement on the sidelines of a television program.
Al-Nujaba Movement’s Red Line to Change the Armed Situation of Resistance Groups in Iraq
According to ISNA, Al-Furat News reported that Al-Assadi announced that the Al-Nujaba Movement is ready to lay down its weapons “immediately” on the condition that such an order is issued directly by Ayatollah Ali Sistani, the highest religious authority.
He considered this issue as the red line and the main criterion for changing the armed situation of resistance groups in Iraq.
Continuing his speech, Al-Assadi referred to indirect correspondence between the Al-Nujaba Movement and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, saying that messages from the Prime Minister have reached the movement, but no direct meeting has taken place between the two sides so far.
Resistance battles in the region have worn out and exhausted the enemy
Referring to recent wars in the region, he stated that resistance battles have costs such as the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, but they have managed to wear out and exhaust the enemy and adopt a heroic and historic stance that the enemy is unable to describe despite technological advances and advanced fighter jets.
Al-Assadi emphasized that the resistance’s logistical supply line in Lebanon through Syria is still active and even stronger than before, and believes that Al-Julani in Syria is not currently a threat to Iraq.
Regarding Iraq’s role in the recent conflicts between Iran and the United States, he emphasized that the “Popular Mobilization Forces” did not participate directly in this war, but only “resistance groups” acted separately. He added that the main and effective arena in this has been Lebanon, which has played a key role due to the continuity and durability of the battle.
Al-Assadi considered the “weapons monopoly” case to be an internal issue that has its roots in political games, not US pressure. He said: “The roots of this case are internal and its effects are related to a political actor, not the US. There is a political actor who, since the past period, has raised this issue only to his supporters and has continued to play with it until now, while the Americans and Israelis found an opportunity in it and used it as a lever of pressure against the current Iraqi government, while they had a stronger lever, which was the dollar.”
