Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Continuing the analysis of regional and international circles on developments in Lebanon and the US and Zionist regime's withdrawal from the major attack on the suburbs of Beirut, Al Jazeera in an article titled "Thus, Netanyahu was forced to make a humiliating retreat" examined the reason for this retreat of the occupiers, which is explained as follows.
Trump and Netanyahu's failed attempt to separate the Lebanese front from Iran
The first day of June 2026 was an exceptional turning point in the Israeli army's aggressive war against Lebanon. This battle was part of a larger war that Trump and Netanyahu launched on February 28, 2026 against Iran, and after the temporary ceasefire that was reached between the United States and Iran, Tehran emphasized that Lebanon should also be included in this ceasefire and that any agreement with the United States would include a clause for a complete cessation of hostilities on the Lebanese front.
However, Netanyahu and Trump had limited the ceasefire in Lebanon to the southern suburbs of Beirut during this period, and the occupation and attacks of the Zionist regime in southern Lebanon continued. This situation caused Hezbollah to reciprocate and intensify its operations against the Zionists.
However, this escalation of the confrontation in southern Lebanon entered a new phase on June 1, which was characterized by a significant intensification of Hezbollah attacks, especially with Ababil drones, against Israeli army positions, destroying tanks and inflicting heavy casualties on Israeli army troops and officers. These Hezbollah operations were carried out in response to the expansion of the brutal aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanese civilians and aid centers in the country.
The situation reached a point where even the Zionists themselves were forced to admit that they had no way to control the situation and limit their losses in Hezbollah drone attacks. After that, Netanyahu, who could not find a way to respond to this escalation of the situation, especially after Hezbollah missiles and drones reached deep into northern occupied Palestine, decided to expand the aggression to the southern suburbs of Beirut and threatened to destroy ten buildings for every drone and missile fired into northern Palestine.
Netanyahu said that the expansion of Israeli airstrikes against Lebanon was done with Trump's agreement, and at the same time, domestic criticism in the United States against Trump for entering a costly war provoked by Israel and Netanyahu was increasing.
Finally, on June 1, the developments in Lebanon entered a new phase, and after the Zionist regime threatened to bomb the Beirut suburbs, the residents of this area were evacuating their homes en masse, and many thought that "Black Wednesday" in which the criminal Zionist army massacred 300 Lebanese civilians at once would be repeated.
Iran forced Netanyahu to make a humiliating retreat in Lebanon
However, all these predictions ended after Iran announced the suspension of negotiations with the United States and the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters publicly warned the residents of northern occupied Palestine to evacuate their settlements.
This warning, issued by Tehran, stabilized the equation that the Lebanese war is part of the war between the United States and Iran, and Netanyahu and Trump must know that they cannot separate the Lebanese front from any ceasefire and agreement in the future; otherwise, Iran will enter the battle again, this time with greater intensity and power.
As a result, Netanyahu was forced into a humiliating retreat in Lebanon, after Trump, in a tense phone call, called Netanyahu a madman and ungrateful and told him to stop attacking the Beirut suburbs.
A careful assessment of the situation here shows that the equation governing Lebanon has entered a qualitatively new phase, distinct from what it was before June 1, the date that became a defining moment in the conflict.
To confirm the accuracy of this assessment, it is necessary to consider the warning issued by the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters to settlers in northern occupied Palestine, along with two other developments announced almost simultaneously by Iran.
