Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi said on Monday that three Afghan citizens were killed in a deliberate attack in the Amandola area of Cosenza province, Italy. He said the men were burned alive during the incident.
The Foreign Ministry has called for a thorough investigation into the incident and clarification of its dimensions by the relevant authorities in Italy. The ministry also stressed that justice should be done against the perpetrators of the incident.
The incident comes as the issue of security of Afghan migrants and refugees in European countries, especially in recent years, has been a serious concern among official institutions and the migrant community.
