Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Iraq: Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Fayyad, a prominent Shiite authority and a prominent figure of the Najaf Ashraf Seminary, passed away in a hospital in Baghdad after a period of illness.
Following the passing of this great Shiite authority, the Iraqi government issued an official statement and declared three days of public mourning throughout the country. The Iraqi Prime Minister, while offering condolences to the seminaries, the great religious authorities, and the Iraqi nation, mentioned Grand Ayatollah Fayyad as one of the influential religious and social figures in the Islamic world.
At the same time, the "Coordination Framework" of Iraqi Shiite groups also issued a statement, expressing condolences to the Islamic world, and announcing the cancellation of all programs for the Eid al-Ghadir celebration that was to be held by this coalition.
Reactions to the passing of this esteemed scholar were not limited to government institutions, and a number of Iraqi political leaders also issued separate messages praising his scientific, religious, and social services.
In his message of condolence, the Iraqi President considered Grand Ayatollah Fayyad to be one of the brilliant figures of the Najaf Seminary, who was known for his wisdom, moderation, and moderation, and spent his blessed life on the path of consolidating peace, national unity, and developing a culture of peaceful coexistence.
On the other hand, the Iraqi Prime Minister also pointed out the lasting role of this late authority in bringing Islamic sects closer and strengthening the unity of the Islamic Ummah, emphasizing that the services and efforts of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad in supporting the just ideals of the Arab world and Islam will never be forgotten.
Also, Sayyid Ammar Hakim, leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, in his message of condolence, described Grand Ayatollah Fayyad as “the voice of wisdom and moderation” and “the authority of the faithful in various religious matters,” and considered his passing a great loss for the seminaries, the Iraqi nation, and the Islamic world.
Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Fayyad was one of the most prominent Shiite authorities of the present era and one of the main pillars of the religious authority in Najaf Ashraf. Over the past decades, he had played an important role in guiding the Islamic community, preserving the unity of Muslims, promoting Islamic values, and supporting the issues of the Islamic Ummah.
