Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, issued a message of condolence following the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Ishaq Fayyaz (RA), one of the religious authorities and prominent scholars of Iraq and Afghanistan, and expressed his condolences to the great religious authorities, seminaries and the people of the two countries.
In this message, Qalibaf expressed deep sorrow and emotion over the passing of this distinguished jurist, and described Ayatollah Fayyaz's most important characteristic as his continuous efforts to strengthen Islamic unity and protect the position of authority in the Islamic world.
The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran stated: “He was always considered an effective figure in strengthening Islamic unity and solidarity, maintaining the peace of Islamic societies, and safeguarding the unifying position of the authority in the Islamic world. Undoubtedly, the loss of that pious authority is a great loss for the seminaries, the followers, the students of that late jurist, and the general public of Muslims.”
He praised the scientific and spiritual achievements of the late authority, adding: “That divine scholar spent his blessed life in the stronghold of knowledge and education of students of the Islamic school, and with his effective presence in the Najaf Ashraf Seminary, he made a lasting contribution to preserving the scientific and spiritual heritage of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) school.”
The Speaker of the Iranian Legislative Assembly expressed hope that Ayatollah Fayyaz’s scientific works, moral character, and wise approach in calling for empathy and preserving the unity of the Islamic nation will remain as a valuable asset for future generations.
It is worth noting that previously, Massoud Pazeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, had also expressed his condolences to the people of Afghanistan and Iraq and the Shiite community around the world on the passing of Grand Ayatollah Fayyad in a separate message.
