Waleed Jumblatt, former head of the Lebanese Socialist Progressive Party, warned of the dangers of entering the path of negotiations with the Zionist regime without setting specific goals and called for lessons to be learned from the fate of the Palestinian negotiations.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Walid Jumblatt, former head of the Lebanese Socialist Progressive Party, emphasized on his personal page on the "X" network that "the negotiation process must be determined from the beginning with its specific and final framework."
He expressed concern about repeating the approach that led to the issuance of "contradictory joint statements" between the positions of Beirut and Washington.
Jumblatt, referring to the bitter experience of the "Oslo Accords" that instead of resolving conflicts, only prolonged the conflicts, said: "Our concern is that the negotiations will turn into a process for mere negotiation."
The former head of the Lebanese Progressive Socialist Party went on to warn that continuing this process could lead to “the destruction of part of southern Lebanon, its heritage, history and people.” He likened the situation to what happened in Palestine and stressed the need for firm guarantees to preserve Lebanon’s rights and national sovereignty in any potential agreement.
