Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): As Donald Trump's threats against Cuba continue, Cuban media have reported that Havana is preparing for a possible aggression by Washington.
The newspaper "Final Version" reported: "Amid the establishment of US military power near the island, the Havana government has begun distributing weapons to citizens and has officially asked them to prepare for an imminent foreign attack."
According to the media report, preparations for a possible military scenario have affected daily life in the Cuban capital. Government organizations and institutions are considering emergency measures.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla recently said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is trying to provoke a military aggression against Cuba. He added that Cuba has never been a threat to US security.
The comments by the senior Cuban diplomat come as Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened Cuba with military action in recent months. He said on Thursday that the US intends to change the government in Cuba.
According to the newspaper Final Version, the recent movements in Cuba “are linked to the growing tension around the island and the strengthening of the US military presence in the region.”
