Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Kabul Municipality has announced that Maulvi Mohammad Khalid Sajistani, Deputy Minister of Urban Services and Environmental Protection of Kabul Municipality, said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition that this program was held with the aim of strengthening the culture of urban beautification, nature-friendliness, developing green spaces, and creating a pleasant atmosphere in Kabul city.
Referring to the efforts of Kabul Municipality in the urban development sector, he added that this institution, in addition to implementing infrastructure projects, has also paid special attention to expanding green spaces and beautifying the city, and in recent years, positive and significant changes have occurred in the appearance of the capital.
The Deputy Minister of Urban Services and Environmental Protection of Kabul Municipality has called on citizens to participate in preserving the freshness and beauty of the city by planting flowers and plants in the alleys, courtyards and gardens of their homes. According to him, the culture of paying attention to flowers and plants and greenery should be strengthened more than ever among the residents of Kabul.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, Mullah Saaduddin Saeed, Deputy Minister of National Environmental Protection Agency, and a number of other speakers, praising the actions of Kabul Municipality in the field of urban development and expansion of green spaces, stated that Kabul city has become more beautiful and green compared to the past.
They considered flowers a symbol of beauty, kindness and the original culture of the Afghan people and emphasized the need to revive the culture of cultivating and maintaining flowers and plants in society.
Also, Mawlawi Abdul Wakil Mutawakil, Head of Greenery of Kabul Municipality, announced that the exhibition will be open to visitors for three days and that 105 types of flowers and plants with a total number of more than 5,000 plants have been exhibited.
According to him, the flowers and plants presented in the exhibition were prepared through the greenhouses of the Greenery Department of Kabul Municipality and in cooperation with the private sector, and citizens can, in addition to visiting, purchase the flowers and plants they want at a reasonable price.
