Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: US Vice President JD Vance claimed in an interview with CBS News that the US is very close to reaching an agreement with Iran regarding the country's nuclear program.
He continued: "I feel that we are now in a position where we can reach an agreement that is good for the US economically and that actually addresses Iran's nuclear program; not just now or during the presidency of Donald Trump, but in the long term."
Vance added that this is a policy goal that the US government is pursuing. Washington is very close to achieving it, but there is still work to be done.
He claimed that the agreement would be finalized before the midterm elections in November. “I don’t think the Iranians are playing for time with Donald Trump,” he said. “I think the Iranian system needs a lot of time to reach a consensus.”
This is despite Trump repeatedly claiming that the deadline for signing the agreement with Iran is near, and the US and Israeli aggression against Iran has continued during the so-called ceasefire and negotiations.
