Trump
US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the interests of the United States and Israel are not always fully aligned and that US President Donald Trump's relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has faced challenges in the wake of the Iran war.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: In an interview with CBS, Vance noted that the Israeli regime has been a close partner for Washington, saying: "But even when we have been close partners, sometimes our interests have been completely aligned and sometimes our interests have been different."

He described Netanyahu as an official who "defends his interests fiercely" but added that Trump "has made it clear what is in America's interest."

Vance continued: "Sometimes we are on the same path and sometimes we are not. “Wherever those interests diverge, unfortunately for the Israelis, we have to side with the American people, and we always will.”

Asked whether Netanyahu had made mistakes in the way he handled his relationship with the United States on Iran, he said, “He certainly has made mistakes in some cases.”

However, Vance declined to give specific examples, saying such issues were “better left to private discussion.”

“But what I can say is that he has been a good partner. We will continue to work together, but wherever interests diverge, the United States will pursue its national interests, and that will be our approach.”
