Colombian President: Israeli Crimes Reminiscent of Nazi Regime

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: “This fight for hydrocarbons is a fight for oil; this is what makes missiles rain down on people and babies,” Colombian President Gustavo Petro said during his speech to the UN Security Council.

 

He argued that the widespread consumption of oil, fueled by greed, has created the climate crisis and the widespread wars that are taking place across the region.

 

The Colombian leader, whose country holds the monthly presidency of the council, linked the killing of thousands of people in the Gaza Strip by Israel to greed. “These numbers cannot be hidden,” Petro said. No political or economic interest can hide this fact.”

 

He described the “cultural origins” of the war as rooted in racism and warned that the world was returning to the era of fascism.

 

Petro warned that artificial intelligence was being manipulated by wealthy “elite” to spread disinformation and “blur the line between truth and lies.”

 

In a direct response to US criticism, Petro clarified that he was not trying to diminish historical crimes, but rather to prevent a “new Holocaust” targeting “third world people.”

 

However, “dialogue between civilizations can never involve the destruction of a civilization,” he stressed.

 

He argued that the international community must guard against the same horrors that led to the creation of the United Nations, especially in the case of the genocide in Gaza.

 

The Colombian president rejected the concept of “malevolent” or “evil” civilizations, stating that “all of humanity has been chosen by God,” not a specific group.

 

He reiterated his support for the two-state solution and called for a “free and independent Palestine” alongside Israel.

 

He strongly condemned the occupation regime’s policies in the Gaza Strip and the martyrdom of tens of thousands of Palestinians as a result of the relentless war against the Strip.

 

According to a report by Al Jazeera, he likened the regime to the Nazi regime.

 

Gustavo Petro also said that the Zionist regime’s crimes against the Palestinians are a reminder of the darkest chapters in human history. No political or economic gain can hide the truth of what is happening in Gaza. The world today is once again faced with scenes reminiscent of the Nazi era.
