Hezbollah drone attack on Israeli command center and destruction of Merkava tank
In more than 20 operations in the past 24 hours, Hezbollah in Lebanon targeted Israeli positions and equipment with its missile and drone attacks. In these attacks, a command center and several Merkava tanks were destroyed.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Hezbollah in Lebanon announced that it had targeted a command center and technical equipment of the Israeli army in the town of Rashaf with a series of attack drones. The Lebanese Islamic Resistance also destroyed a Merkava tank in the Al-Rajman area around the town of Tir Harfa with an Ababil suicide drone.

In continuation of this operation, Hezbollah announced the downing of a Hermes 450 drone belonging to the Israeli army in the sky of the Al-Khardali area in southern Lebanon with a surface-to-air missile.

According to recent reports, Hezbollah in Lebanon has carried out at least 22 attacks against Israeli forces, vehicles and military positions in the 24 hours ending on Saturday morning (May 31/10 Joza).

In these attacks, which were carried out using drones and missiles, six Merkava tanks were targeted in various areas of southern Lebanon.

Details of the attacks on Merkava tanks:
Five tanks were targeted in the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif in Nabatieh province using attack drones, guided missiles and other weapons and caught fire after being hit.

The sixth tank was also targeted near the town of Dibin in the Marjayoun region.

News sources have reported that Hezbollah has used inexpensive “Ababil” suicide drones, priced at around $400 to $500, which are capable of destroying million-dollar military equipment such as Merkava tanks (each unit costs around $4 million).

The images released from these attacks show the moment the drones directly hit Israeli tanks and armored vehicles.

Other targets attacked: In this regard, Hezbollah has announced that it has also targeted Israeli military positions in various areas, including Naqoura, Hadada, Rashaf, Bayada, Zutar al-Sharqiya and Qozah.

Israeli units in the “Tir Harfa” area have suffered heavy casualties from ambushes and the explosion of several bombs.

Hermes 450 drone shot down: Hezbollah forces shot down an Israeli army Hermes 450 reconnaissance drone (a "Zik" type) in the sky over the Al-Khardali region in southern Lebanon with a surface-to-air missile.

This is the third Hermes 450 drone to be targeted by Hezbollah in the skies of Lebanon in recent days.

Israeli reaction: The Israeli army confirmed the downing of one of its drones in Lebanon, but said there was no risk of sensitive information leaking and that the matter was under investigation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Hezbollah drones as a "major threat" and called for effective ways to counter them.

These operations are taking place despite the US-brokered ceasefire that began on April 7, but the Israeli regime continues to violate the ceasefire and attack Lebanese villages and civilians.

Hezbollah has stressed that these attacks are carried out in response to Israeli ceasefire violations and attacks on civilians.

According to experts, the significant increase in the number of Hezbollah attacks in southern Lebanon and the success in destroying advanced Merkava tanks using cheap drones indicate a change in the field and technological equations of the conflict on the Lebanese-occupied Palestinian border. Studies show that the use of suicide drones with high stealth and precision capabilities has become an effective deterrent against Israeli heavy armor.

Observers say that the downing of three Hermes 450 drones in recent days indicates a significant strengthening of Hezbollah’s air defense systems and the ability to counter Israel’s most advanced reconnaissance and combat equipment. According to experts, the increase in Israeli casualties and destroyed equipment in southern Lebanon has put increasing pressure on the regime’s government to review its military strategy towards Lebanon.
