Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Interior Affairs has announced that members of the Ministry’s Border Police General Directorate have prevented the smuggling of $409,200 in Islam Qala land port, Herat province.
According to the information provided, an individual intended to illegally export this amount of money from the country; but was detained by border police forces before the money could be transferred.
According to officials, the detained individual is being interrogated to complete further investigations and investigations.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior's counter-narcotics forces also succeeded in discovering and seizing a drug processing and production factory in Farah province in several separate operations.
According to the report, 58 kilograms of glass powder, 20 liters of acid and a number of other raw materials for drug production were recovered from this factory. Also, 3,000 narcotic pills were discovered and seized in Kabul city and 16 kilograms of opium poppy were seized from Paktika province.
The Ministry of Interior added that three people have been arrested in connection with these events and will be handed over to judicial and legal institutions after completing the relevant files.
Security officials say that combating currency smuggling, drugs and organized crime is one of the main priorities of the country's security forces, and dozens of similar operations have been carried out in different parts of Afghanistan in recent months.
