Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Southern Lebanon has once again been the target of widespread attacks by the Israeli regime, and the regime’s army has issued evacuation warnings twice, for 20 towns and villages in the morning and four other areas in the afternoon today.
According to the Israeli army, residents of dozens of areas in the Nabatieh and Jezzine provinces, including Deir al-Zahrani, Nimriyyah, Haboush, Kafr Jawz, Nabatieh al-Tahta and Nabatieh al-Fouqa, have been subject to this warning and have been asked to leave their homes; a move that comes at the same time as air and artillery attacks on southern Lebanon have increased.
Meanwhile, Lebanese sources reported heavy explosions in the Marjayoun and Nabatiyeh areas. Reports indicate that the Israeli army carried out a large-scale explosive operation that lasted for about 42 seconds, causing the ground to shake and a loud noise to be heard in large areas.
At the same time, in other attacks, a relief center in the town of Sal’a was targeted, injuring two aid workers. The towns of Al-Bayyad, Majdal Zone, Al-Mansouri, and the Litani Riverbed were also bombed several times.
Local sources reported continued artillery attacks on the outskirts of Sirifa and Al-Tuwairi, as well as airstrikes near the Lebanese Army checkpoint at the Kafr Houna intersection. In one of these attacks, an Israeli drone targeted an employee of the electricity company in the town of Al-Rayhan.
During these attacks, Ali Badie, the mayor of Al-Rayhan, was killed in an airstrike on the town in the Jizin region. There are also reports of the evacuation of some Lebanese army positions in Nabatiyeh and the transfer of forces to the northern regions.
Along with the developments on the ground, the political atmosphere in Lebanon is also witnessing new tensions. In an interview with Reuters, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam once again called for the disarmament of Hezbollah and the government’s monopoly on weapons, saying that southern Lebanon should be a “weapon-free zone.”
These positions come at a time when the Lebanese resistance has always emphasized the right to self-defense against the Zionist regime’s occupation.
