Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved the agreement signed with Saudi Arabia on Saturday on the mutual visa waiver for holders of diplomatic and special passports.
According to the decision published in the Turkish Official Gazette and signed by Erdogan, holders of these types of passports will be exempt from obtaining a visa to enter, transit, exit or temporarily reside in the territory of the other country.
According to the provisions of this agreement, holders of diplomatic and special passports can stay in the other country without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed this agreement on May 6 at the end of the Turkey-Saudi Arabia Coordination Council meeting in Ankara. The meeting was chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan.
The Anadolu Agency assessed the agreement as aimed at expanding cooperation and facilitating the movement of officials and holders of special passports between the two countries.
