Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economy has announced that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy, met and discussed with officials of the Afghan Invest private company in his office today (Wednesday, June 17).
According to the company's officials, the work of extending the 500 kV Sheberghan-Alwandasht power line and expanding the Alwandasht substation have reached the final stages and the project is scheduled to be put into operation in the next four months. According to previous reports, this project is 95 percent complete and with its full utilization, the energy transmission capacity will increase significantly and the basis for electricity supply will be provided to 12 provinces of the country, including Kabul.
Officials of the Afghan Invest Company also announced the progress in the exploration activities of the second block of the lead and zinc mine in Tulak district of Ghor province and pledged that the rest of the project will be completed within the specified time with the cooperation of domestic and foreign experts. It is worth mentioning that previously, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum had assigned the extraction of one block of the lead mine in Tulak district to the winning companies.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, while appreciating the efforts made by this company, emphasized the need to accelerate the mine exploration process and called for the initiation of necessary measures to establish a 100% processing plant for the minerals of this mine.
He also emphasized the provision of electricity required by the factory and assured that the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs will continue its comprehensive cooperation with the aforementioned company in order to advance these projects.
