Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, held a telephone conversation this Wednesday afternoon and exchanged views.
In this conversation, Araqchi, while explaining the details of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to his Chinese counterpart, expressed hope that Iran and China can benefit from the opportunities of this memorandum of understanding to develop their relations, especially in the fields of energy and economy.
According to Tasnim, he also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Beijing's support for the negotiations process and the country's support for the relevant memorandum of understanding, noting the high level of mutual trust between the Islamic Republic of Iran and China and the strategic importance of the two countries' relations.
Referring to past experiences that, according to him, have led to Iran's deep distrust of the United States, Araghchi stated: "The responsibility for the full and proper implementation of the provisions of this understanding, especially in the field of ending the war on all fronts, lies with the United States."
The Chinese Foreign Minister, welcoming the memorandum of understanding, praised the Iranian government and people's resistance to pressure and coercive policies, and at the same time, praised the Islamic Republic of Iran's responsible and diplomatic approach in resolving issues and advancing talks.
According to the report, Wang Yi, emphasizing the need for the precise and complete implementation of the provisions of this memorandum, announced China's readiness to cooperate in facilitating its implementation, strengthening regional interactions, and helping to resolve existing ambiguities and challenges between countries in the region.
It is said that the Iranian and Chinese foreign ministers also emphasized the need for the international community to support this memorandum of understanding and the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council, as the main body for maintaining international peace and security, in supporting the effective implementation and adherence to the provisions of this memorandum.
The parties also reviewed some bilateral issues and expressed hope that this understanding would open a new chapter in Iran-China relations.
