Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: According to a statement by the Israeli army, the incident occurred yesterday evening (Wednesday) when the aggressor forces, including a team of commanders and senior officers, were patrolling along the Litani River and were targeted by an explosive device that had been planted in advance by resistance fighters.
According to a report by the Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post, the slain soldier was identified as Alexander Filin, 29, a senior sergeant and a combatant attached to the headquarters of the 36th Division of the Israeli army. It is said that he was a resident of the city of Haifa in the occupied territories.
In this operation, a number of Israeli officers and soldiers were also injured, some of whom are reported to be in “neither serious nor severe” condition.
According to Israeli media sources, the deputy commander of the 36th Division with the rank of colonel and a battalion commander from the 556th Transport Regiment are among those injured in the explosion.
In addition, a combat soldier, two other reserve soldiers and a female soldier also suffered superficial injuries. Israeli sources say that all the wounded have been transferred to hospitals in the occupied territories.
Following this blow, Israeli sources reported that the regime’s army has launched an artillery bombardment of infrastructure and civilian areas in southern Lebanon to cover up its failure on the ground.
