Afghanistan and Kazakhstan emphasize the establishment of a water research center at Kabul University

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Higher Education announced in a press release that Sheikh Nida Mohammad Nadeem, Minister of Higher Education, discussed in an online meeting with Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, the expansion of bilateral scientific and academic cooperation, as well as challenges related to water, food security, and climate change.

 

According to the information provided by the Ministry, Mr. Nadeem, in this meeting, considered the existing problems in the water, food, and climate change sectors in Afghanistan to be consequences of the wars imposed in recent decades, and emphasized that the Islamic Emirate has prioritized addressing these challenges and finding effective solutions to confront them.

 

The Minister of Higher Education also called for Kazakhstan's cooperation in sending expert professors to Afghanistan, improving the scientific and educational capacity of Afghan professors, and establishing research centers in the country's universities.

 

Meanwhile, Sayasat Nurbek, while emphasizing the development of scientific cooperation between the two countries, has pledged that Kazakhstan will provide the necessary cooperation and support for the establishment of a water research center at Kabul University.

 

The expansion of scientific and research cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan is being pursued at a time when issues related to water resources management, climate change, and food security are among the most important challenges in the region.
