Return of more than 3,500 refugees and distribution of 902 land plots for returnees in the past day

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, has announced, based on the report of the High Commission for Addressing Refugees’ Problems, that 541 families including 2,924 people entered the country and were registered through the Torkham crossing yesterday.

 

During the same period, 341 families with 1,846 members have been transferred to the provinces of Nangarhar, Kunar, Laghman and Kabul, for which more than 1,649,000 Afghanis were paid for their transfer.

 

The Financial Affairs Committee in Torkham has also distributed cash assistance of 3,676,000 Afghanis to 452 families. In the health and telecommunications services sector, necessary services have been provided to returning refugees in the Omari camp, and 540 SIM cards with active packages have been provided to them.

 

67 families including 354 people have also entered the country through the Spin Boldak crossing in Kandahar province. Of these, 27 families with 173 members have been transferred to Kabul, and more than 291,000 Afghanis have been paid for their transportation fare. 30 families have also received cash assistance, and food, health, and telecommunications services have been provided to the refugees.

 

In Nimroz province, 59 families including 233 people have returned to the country and registered through the Silk Bridge route. In addition, 1,297 passengers have also entered the country through this route. In the health services sector, 812 people have been treated and three SIM cards have been distributed.

 

At the Islam Qala crossing in Herat province, 21 families including 68 people entered the country and cash assistance worth a total of 136,000 Afghanis was distributed to all these families.

 

According to this report, the Transport and Transfer Committee in Kabul also transferred 81 families including 467 people to different provinces of the country and paid more than 338,000 Afghanis for their transfer.

 

In the permanent settlement of refugees, residential land plots have been distributed to 902 returnee families in the provinces of Nangarhar, Farah, Helmand, Faryab, Nimroz and Balkh over the past day. The High Commission for the Resolution of Refugees' Problems says that the total number of land plots distributed to returnees has reached 47,991 so far and the distribution process is still ongoing.

 

Based on the final statistics of this report, in the past day, 688 families including 3,579 people were registered, 449 families including 2,504 people were transferred to different areas, 506 families received financial assistance, 597 SIM cards were distributed, and 902 families were granted residential land titles.
