Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Referring to the role of Islamabad in this process, Shahbaz Sharif said, citing Al Jazeera, "The presidents of the US and Iran signed the memorandum of understanding as I had approved as a mediator."
The Pakistani Prime Minister also emphasized that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding will enter the implementation phase immediately.
According to him, in the first step, Iran will immediately open the Strait of Hormuz, and in return, the US will directly lift the naval blockade.
He went on to praise Qatar's role in advancing the agreement, saying, "I would like to particularly appreciate the sincere efforts and constructive engagement of the Qatari leadership in helping to achieve this milestone."
The Pakistani prime minister also claimed that Donald Trump's commitment to diplomacy and his preference for peaceful solutions had helped bring the conflict to an end.
