Pakistani ambassador summoned to Kabul; Strong condemnation of airstrikes against civilians in Kunar, Paktia and Paktika provinces

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate in a diplomatic move today summoned the Pakistani charge d'affaires in Kabul to convey the country's official protest against the recent air strikes.

 

The attacks, which led to the bombing of civilian homes in Kunar, Paktia and Paktika provinces, are a flagrant violation of national sovereignty, international principles and humanitarian law, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

 

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemned these actions and stressed the need to respect airspace and border security.

 

The Foreign Ministry said that Pakistan has always tried to blame Kabul for its security failures and internal political crises by making baseless accusations against Afghanistan, thus attributing its internal issues to Afghanistan.

 

Earlier, the deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate said that according to preliminary figures, at least 36 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 163 others wounded in the airstrikes of the Pakistani army in Paktia, Paktika and Kunar provinces last night.
