Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Esmail Baghaei, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the farewell and funeral ceremony of the body of the "Martyr Leader of the Revolution" as a historic and important event in a television interview today (Thursday), and said that this ceremony is of special importance not only for the Iranian nation, but also for the people of the region, Muslims and free people of the world.
Baqaei announced that delegations from about 100 countries, including heads of state, parliament speakers, foreign ministers, special representatives of governments, as well as a large number of personalities and popular groups, will attend the ceremony.
He explained the ceremony’s program and added: “The ceremony of paying respects and farewell will begin at 8:00 am on Friday and will continue until about 12:00 pm. Also, from 1:30 pm or 2:00 pm, high-ranking officials from various countries and political figures will participate in the ceremony.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that the ceremony of paying respects and farewell began on Friday morning and will continue until the evening.
Baqaei had previously announced in a weekly press conference that several countries at different levels, including heads of state, parliament speakers, and foreign ministers, have announced their readiness to attend the ceremony, and officials from all neighboring countries will also participate in the ceremony.
