Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: According to the press office of the Emirati companies, the meeting was held between Mullah Abdul Haq Hammar, CEO of the Breshna Company, and officials of the NKY company, and its focus was on examining investment opportunities in power generation projects and the reconstruction of energy facilities in Afghanistan.
In this meeting, the Afghan side appreciated the investment of Turkish companies in the energy sector and emphasized that the necessary conditions have been provided for the activities of foreign investors in the field of power generation and infrastructure projects in the country.
In contrast, NKY’s vice president, Hakan Bos, said the company is active in more than 20 countries building power plants and renewable energy projects and is now looking to invest in Afghanistan in two key sectors.
Afghanistan has been facing chronic electricity shortages and a high dependence on energy imports in recent years. In addition, waste management in large cities is also a serious infrastructure challenge. “Waste-to-energy” projects are being used in many countries as a dual solution providing electricity and reducing urban pollution but they require heavy investment and advanced technology.
