Details of the funeral and farewell ceremony for the martyred leader of the revolution in the cities of Najaf and Karbala
The Supreme Committee for the Funeral of the Martyr Ummat in Iraq explained some details of the ceremony in Najaf and Karbala.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Supreme Committee for the Funeral of the Martyr Ummat of Imam Khamenei (RA) in Iraq, in a meeting chaired by Ali Razoqi, head of the ceremony services committee, and attended by Hamid Hosseini, head of the Husseini Procession Union, representatives of ministries and the Popular Mobilization Forces, reviewed the latest executive and service coordination for holding the funeral and farewell ceremony.
 
In this meeting, the division of duties between government agencies and supporting institutions was finalized.
 
Based on the decisions taken, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity committed to providing stable, 24-hour electricity in the provinces of Najaf Ashraf and Karbala Mu'alla from July 5 until the end of the ceremony, especially on the funeral routes.
 
The Iraqi Ministry of Health also announced that it will deploy ambulances, relief vehicles, and medical teams along the funeral routes in Najaf and Karbala to provide medical and relief services to participants.
 
The Iraqi Ministry of Transport also announced that 280 vehicles will be allocated for the ceremony, of which 180 will be used to transport official delegations and participants from different provinces of Iraq, while the other vehicles will be used to transport pilgrims from surrounding areas to Najaf Ashraf and then to Karbala.
 
Meanwhile, representatives of the Alawi, Husseini, and Abbasid holy shrines, in coordination with the Husseini delegations and processions, announced their readiness to organize service processions along the funeral routes. According to this decision, given that the ceremony will last only one day, the services of the processions will be limited to distributing water, drinks, and light meals.
 
According to the announced program, the body of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution will enter Iraq on Tuesday through Najaf Ashraf Airport, and an official welcoming ceremony will be held that evening.
 
On Wednesday, the funeral procession will begin from Najaf Ashraf Airport and, after passing through Kufa, Sadrin Square, and the Thawrat al-Ashreen area, will reach the holy shrine of Amir al-Mu'minin Imam Ali (AS).
 
In the courtyard of Hazrat Fatima (AS), scholars and religious figures will welcome the body, and after the noon prayer, a farewell ceremony will be held at the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS).
 
After the ceremony, the funeral procession will leave Najaf Ashraf for Karbala.
 
The funeral ceremony in Karbala will begin at 4:00 PM, and after the caravan moves towards the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas (AS), the official programs of the day will end with a farewell ceremony and Isha prayer at the holy shrine.
