Tehran fully prepared to hold a grand farewell and funeral ceremony for the martyred leader of the revolution and host pilgrims

Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Motamedian, explaining the details of the programs, announced that the ceremony will begin in Tehran on Saturday. On Saturday and Sunday, Tehran will host pilgrims and mourners from all over Iran, and the farewell ceremony will be held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Shrine. According to the plan, the public will be able to visit the body of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution from 6 a.m. on Saturday.

He added: On Sunday morning, July 4, prayers will be held at the Grand Mosque of Imam Khomeini (RA), and the programs for this day will continue until 8:00 PM. Preparations are also being made to hold the main funeral ceremony on Monday, July 5.

 

 

A million-strong attendance is expected; planning for an unparalleled crowd

The Tehran Governor, referring to the observations made, announced that people from the farthest corners of Iran are leaving to attend the ceremony and said: “The necessary planning has been done to organize a crowd that is unparalleled in its kind in the history of the country, so that we can be a worthy host for the pilgrims.”

Stating that the necessary policies have been made in the National Funeral Headquarters and communicated to all executive committees, he considered the most important part of the plans to ensure the security of the ceremony and clarified: “The responsibility for the security of the ceremony lies with the military, law enforcement, security and intelligence forces.” According to reports presented at the last meeting of the provincial supply council, multi-layered planning and synergy of intelligence, security and military groups have provided favorable conditions for holding the ceremony in complete security.

 

Identification and elimination of 400 vulnerable points in Mosalla

Moammatdian announced the holding of numerous field meetings to prepare the venue for the ceremony and said: "More than 400 vulnerable and unsafe points in Mosalla were identified and eliminated with the round-the-clock efforts of the Tehran Municipality. Field visits and necessary inspections have been carried out by the relevant committees and all vulnerable points have been eliminated."

 

 

Strengthening critical infrastructure

- Water supply: Cooperation with the Tehran Provincial Water and Wastewater Company to increase capacity

- Electricity supply: Increasing the capacity and stability of the network by creating transformers, new lines and increasing the capacity several times by the Tehran Electricity Distribution Company; Possibility of providing electricity even during peak consumption

- Communications: Installation of mobile and portable BTS stations in Mosalla and high-traffic areas with a four to fivefold increase in communication coverage capacity; Ministry of Communications’ arrangements for the sustainability of mobile telephone and internet communications

 

Staff structure; from national to provincial level

The Governor of Tehran announced, referring to the formation of coordination headquarters at various levels:

- National Headquarters: Headed by the First Vice President with Pourjamshidian as Secretary and establishing a Secretariat in the Ministry of Interior/Country; Activities of specialized committees on transportation, communications, housing and other committees

- Provincial Headquarters: Formation of three headquarters in Tehran, Qom and Khorasan Razavi with the responsibility of the relevant governors/governors

- Executive Headquarters of Tehran Province: With 32 subordinate committees and assignment of responsibility to the Tehran Revolutionary Guard Corps for management and command of the field unit
